I agree. It was stomach-churningly elitist, privileged, and cringe, written by someone with astonishingly little self-awareness and a profound dearth of introspection. I hardly ever write a negative comment on a Medium essay, because I feel that creative people should support each other, not tear each other down, but this was very disappointing and an embarrassing representation of Americans abroad.
