You Say You Love the Constitution, But…

You say you love the United States Constitution, and yet you have no problem telling anyone who exercises their First Amendment right in order to call “Bullshit” on any aspect of this allegedly great nation to “love it or leave it.”

You say you love the United States Constitution, and yet anyone who kneels in protest before the flag of this most imperfect union is immediately identified as the problem, not whatever injustice they are so moved by, and they are cast out, shunned, and excoriated with the full force and measure of white (hot) rage.

You say you love the United States Constitution, which ostensibly guarantees a separation of Church and State, but there are Christian-centered prayers everywhere there is government. Yes, I’m aware of the distinction of “civil religion” upheld in 1952 — just another hypocritical loophole used ceaselessly to prop up Christianity in this nation, and make everyone else who is anything else know that they’re anything but a true American.

My shameful Commonwealth will most likely elect Doug Mastriano, a staunch conservative who can’t seem to keep his catechism out of his policies, who has made it clear that he will zealously impose his religious morals on all who dwell here.
